Augustine's Thought On Fulfillment

Augustine believes that the person of good deserves and enjoys happiness, whereas the person of ill will do not. We all want happiness; yet some fail to attain it because they do not lead virtuous lives. Our ultimate and final happiness is God. But those who reject God and spiritual values for the sake of inferior, earthly goods cannot be truly happy in this life and are damaging their chances for that final happiness in the afterlife.
