Mission Five: The Los Angeles Times (Early Edition) At 10:00am, when we looked at the preview edition of the Los Angeles Sunday Times that had been purchased, there was nothing to be seen on the front page about the tragedy. A further search within the other sections revealed that there was nothing to be found. Although the preview edition may be considered a good source of news, we do not recommend it due to the fact that late breaking news stories will not appear until the following morning.

Mission Six: The Los Angeles Times (Sunday Final) We scanned through the regular edition that proved to bring hope to those who rely solely on newspapers for their current events. It was on the front page, and we were able to find an in depth story complete with the most recent statistics as of the previous night. Still, if one was in search of detailed up-to-the-minute reports, the Internet was confirmed to be the preferred and most reliable source. |

Mission Seven: Updates of the Internet We checked the internet regularly for the time we were working, and noticed that all of the news sites were updating with each new piece of information that came out. The updates came at least every hour, as opposed to television and printed news. Each site was reliable in this respect. |

The Conclusion: In conclusion we found out that the best source of news is the Internet, it is considered to be the quickest and usually updates within a few minutes. You do not have to wait until a certain hour to watch the news like you would on television, besides, when you watch the news on the screen - time is critical, and the stories are told quickly. Unlike the internet, you can visit the site as many times you want and analyze the story. You can even sit back in your chair and not worry about missing something. You get the chance to mail them your comments, worries, or questions rapidly and expect an answer in the following weeks. You might say that you have this pleasure when reading the newspaper, but the newspaper does not have the vivid colors that the Internet has. The newspaper is just plain old black and white. It spreads the stories and contains too many advertisements to look over which makes it uncomfortable to manage. While on the Internet, all you have to do is click your mouse and continue reading the story. It feels easy and clean. Everybody seems to be preferring the internet to the other types of media. Even professional journalists have turned to the Internet to get their news. |
