Beginner's Guide - Headings

The text you see above is a heading. Headings are more complicated than paragraphs or linebreaks in that you need to explicitly state when they start and end. The tags used in the heading above are <H1> and </H1>. (A pair of tags like that is called a container.) The 1 means level 1; there are 6 levels of headings using the <H1> through <H6> containers. Here are examples of headings:

(<H1>)Big and important

(<H2>)Almost as big and important

(<H3>)A medium heading

(<H4>)Small but somewhat important

(<H5>)Not exactly a useful heading size
(<H6>)On most browsers this is smaller than normal text
