Genesis: The Debate is a discussion board where visitors to the site, Genesis: The Beginnings, can get together to talk, share and discuss ideas.
The Site is run by the ThinkQuest 1998 team 18757. Although we did not code this site ourselves, (see Where can I get the scripts for this program?), we have customized it, configured it, and given it a home here at Genesis.
In a word, yes. Although we encourage everybody to talk encourage and discuss both evolution and creationalism, sometimes it can get ugly. Any offensive material can, and will be removed at any time, including all an author's posts if needs be. Abusive posters can be blocked from posting entirely as well - let's hope it doesn't come to that.
Can I use html tags in my posts?
You can use HTML tags only in the body of your message if you want. (Only in the body mind you). If you use an excessive amount of tags it can get annoying, but go ahead and emphasize that special line of text if you want.
Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup?
Colons appear in the message window when you try to followup up on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous writer. It provides you with a helpfull framework for responding to other peoples' ideas.
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser has not reloaded the page. Please reload (or Refresh if you prefer) your browser and it should then appear.
Where can I get the scripts for this program?
The scripts are written in Perl and created by Matt
Wright. We here at Genesis decided that although we would like to,
we didn't have the time or the resources to create our own bulletin board
and hey, why should we when Matt's done such a splendid job. Matt's
scripts are free to anyone who wishes to use them and you can get them
as well as other scripts at: http://worldwidemart.com/scripts/.
Enjoy! Let's here it again for Matt Wright :).
