Meta tags are a way for you to tell the search engines what description and keywords are associated with your web site. The syntax is as follows:
<META NAME="Description" CONTENT="Here you would type a description of your web site that you would want displayed.">
<META NAME="Keywords" CONTENT="Here, you, separate, each, keyword, with, commas">
These two lines should be placed within the <head> tags, above the <body> tag.
Another great, but tedious way to receive more hits is through links from other pages. The best way to go about this task is to visit pages with an idea similar to yours and email the webmaster asking for a reciprocal link. This means that they will link to your page if you link back to theirs. Most will be more than happy to comply.
