Stories From Survivors |

|
|
|
After the fateful accident, the
survivors were rescued by the Carpathia. During the voyage home, and afterward, the
survivors were questioned and interrogated about the incident. Unfortunately,
because of the chaos and havoc aboard the Titanic, many of the survivors were unable to
give cogent and understandable recollections of the incident. This section contains
most of the documented recollections of the incident, which played a valuable role in
putting the pieces together.

Titanic Strikes An Iceberg |
|
|
On April 14, 1912, Titanic made
legend. On that eventful night, the huge ocean liner struck an iceberg. The
ship, which was believed to be unsinkable, began to take in water, and after a rigorous
four hours, the Titanic had dropped out of sight. That night cost the lives of over
1000 people, and caused the death of Legendary RMS Titanic to be a permanent mark in
history.

The Trip Home |
|
|
After the Titanic dropped out of
sight, the survivors in the lifeboats searched for survivors in the dark waters.
Unfortunately, few of the people could survive the freezing waters, and only six were
recovered. A few hours later, the survivors were picked up by the Carpathia, and
taken home. On the voyage home many people realized, for the first time, that they
lost their loved ones. This became one of the hardest moments for the survivors, and
it took a long time, if not forever, before they were able to completely cope with their
losses.
