If you are a teacher you have certainly noticed that LOGO is not simply a small turtle but also an introduction to computer programming. LOGO is very useful to teach programming because it's not as abstract as other languages and tries to explain everything as simple as possible. It's a lot easier for kids to imagine a little turtle on a sheet of paper than to understand a computer in text mode. The advantage of our version of LOGO is that it is very easy to access via web and it also gives you the direct opportunity to communicate with the rest of the world. We prepared 10 lessons which cover all the important aspects of programming in the Logo language. The lessons are based one on the others. Therefore, you should treat them in the order proposed. Unfortunately we can't insist very much on geometrical and mathematical aspects so you might have to give further explanations yourself. We suggest dividing the lessons in 3 units. The lessons 1 to 3, 4 to 6 and 7 to 10 are good units for this division. We hope that we can help you to improve your teaching with our project and we would be pleased if you could send us a mail to golze@writeme.com and share your experiences with us. |
