Saba Bank, 10-3-1974
The Saba Bank, a boat of 16,5 meters, sailed from Nassau the Bahama's for a test navigation at 10 March 1974. The destination of the ship was the marina of Dinn Key, it would arrive at 8 April.
Special builded like a charted ship for teams deep see divers, the craft of a quarter million dollar had been equipped with the newest safety facilities and radio equipment. The crew exist outof four expienced sailors who knowed each other well, but the ship didn't come at the expected date in the marina.
The coastguard began search via radio and get in contact with ships at the Caribisch Sea for all possible clues. The results were negative. The coastguard thought that the ship had engine trouble but wasn't in danger. The coastguard kept looking for the ship during routine patrols, but they didn't start a search operation, nothing was found and there's even no sign of the four crewmembers and the ship, despite the reward of 200 dollar a despi the unique plan of the ship was easily to identify.
Photos of the ship witch were even circulated by harbors and many seamen, but without success.
