Hello, and welcome to Understanding Weather and Weather Phenomenon! We hope that by the time you have finished browsing this site you will become familiar with one of the most important, and possibly least understood topics in all of science, WEATHER! From the beginning of time, man has always tried to understand, and control, his surroundings. Weather was no exception. Weather controlled, and still does in some instances today, mans ability to conduct his business; be it farming, construction, and even transportation. Not until recent years, with the use of highly sophisticated technology, has it been possible to make an accurate short range forecast, and a semi-accurate long range forecast. The first segment of this site will describe these processes, and even different types of weather. The second half of the site will discuss a very popular topic in the news currently, El Niño. El Niño is a very misunderstood anomaly which has climatic impacts around the world. Also, another weather phenomena, La Niña, will be presented. Have fun browsing!
