Double Displacement Lab
Purpose: What are the results of a double-displacement
reqaction?
Materials:
1 dropper bottle containing CuSO4 solution
1 dropper bottle containing NaOH solution
1 test tube
1 test tube rack to hold test tube
Safety Goggles
Caution: CuSO4 is poisonous! Handle with care,
and wash your hands thoroughly at end of the activity.
Procedure:
-
Place 20 drops CuSO4 solution in the test tube. Observe
the color.
-
Add 20 drops NaOH solution to the CuSO4 in the test tube.
Observe the color.
-
Observe the results.
