"Non-violence, less pollution, more togetherness, more industry, less institutions like prisions; more schools, more hospitals. These thing come through the music. The music is those things and those things is the music." --Lee Perry. |
Reggae was very popular in the UK during the rise of punk and one band decided to merge the two. Bothe Reggae and Punk had the same message, they were very different styles of music though. The Specials, one of the first ska groups, combined punk and ska to make punk-ska. Their hits were "Three minute Hero" , "Too much pressure", and "Murder".
