"Some rock music both reflects and affects the society. Some rock music like Bryan Adams is just lyrics about love and stuff like that. We have heard a lot of rock music here in Sweden, especially during the 70's music movement, that affected the society. Then we have both punk rock and gangsta rap telling stories about the real life." Kalle, on music & life |
about Rock Revolution
Kalle Hi there music lovers! My name is Kalle Lundström and I live in a small village in southern Sweden called Astorp. I'm 17 years old, which means senior high school studies here in Sweden. I study Nature Science with a process chemistry direction in a nearby village. The school's connected to a big chemistry company called Perstorp AB. After school I probably will go on with further studies at some university. Chemistry Engineer willl be the subject. I play the drums in a rock band called ILL. Don't miss our song under the composition topic! Other things I do is homework, I hang around with friends, I play the guitar, I go the gym and lift some weights (sounds fun, or?), I listen to music (all the time), I watch TV and loads of other stuff that makes life worth living! This is the first year I participate in a Think Quest team. It has been great fun and I have learnt lots of new things. Unfortunately, I'm a very lazy human being, especially during summer holiday, so maybe the expectations of me from my friends in Hawaii hasn't been fulfilled. But I do think that we have made a both interesting and instructive site! | |

Darren, Team Leader
Hello there, I'm Darren, the team leader of Rock Revolution. This is my third year entering the contest. Two years ago I was part of the Design Paradise team with my sister and Jeff (Who is now too old to be a student). And last year, I was part of the Avalanche team with Jeff again and Kristoffer Persson from Sweden. This year the team took our interest in rock music and created Rock Revolution. Music is one of my main interests. I play the trumpet in my school's marching band and concert band and I'm currently learning to play the guitar. I also have LOTS of CD's that I listen to. My music interests have changed over the last five or six years from Hawaiian, to Rap and R&B, to sappy love music. Right now I'm into Heavy Metal and Punk. I also enjoy drawing Japanese animation. |
