Plato was a Greek Philosopher and teacher. He taught that all heavenly bodies move at a constant speed along circular paths. His most famous pupil was Aristotle. Who went on to be a very important philosopher and teacher in his own right. Not only did Plato influence people years after his dealth, mostly being studied during the Renaissance, but even people in his own time were awe struck by his achievements. His studies of the Earth and the universe is what makes him one of the most important people in history.
