Palo Duro Canyon State Park Palo Duro Canyon is one of the state's largest parks, covering 15,103 acres. Palo Duro Canyon's walls are a thousand feet from the bottom at times. Palo Duro Canyon took millions of years to create. It was created by the Red River and has spectacular views. The play "TEXAS" is the official play of Texas.  It is performed in Pioneer Amphitheater, in Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The play is backdropped by a 600-foot cliff and gives people a peek into the history of Texas. |
