| Edwin Aldrin is an american astronaut that flew the Apollo 11 lunar-landing mission on July 16-24, 1969, with Neil Armstrong, the commander, and Aldrin as the lunar-module pilot. They became the first and second persons, respectively, to walk on the moon. Aldrin was pilot of Gemini 12 on November 11-15, 1966 and, after retiring from NASA, served from1971-72 as commandant of the Aerospace Research Pilots' School at Edwards Air Force Base, California | ![]() |
