David Bowie's first album was Man of Words, Man of Music. Bowie's next three albums were his most popular early works, and included some of his best songs. The first was,The Man Who Sold The World. Mick Ronson's guitar pieces from this album are often thought of as the birthpoint of heavy metal. The second was Hunky Dory. This was built from a six track demo, and included the songs: Changes, and Life on Mars. Immediately following this album was an instant classic, Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars.
In 1972 David Bowie began to get a glimpse of the power that the press has. In an interview with Melody Maker he admitted that he was gay and that propelled him into widespread stardom.
Amidst the Ziggy Mania, Aladdin Sane was released in April of 1973. His next album, Pin-Ups, was the last time that Bowie would record with Mick Ronson. In 1977, Low was released. This album confused both RCA and the public, however the single Sound and Vision made the #2 hit on the British charts.
Bowie's next great album was Let's Dance. This album came out at the same time as The Labyranth. This was a movie, in which Bowie starred.
His Recent work includes the film Basquait, in which the main character was immortalized in his 1972 track, Andy Warhol. His single Telling Lies,won the public's heart. His latest album is entitled Earthling and from it came the single I'm Afraid of Americans which rose in the US charts.
After 30 years of making music, David Bowie is still around, and as innovative as ever. He is currently working on projects such as a Ziggy movie and he is even starting up his own Internet Service Provider entitled BowieNet. What he will do in the futur, is anyone's guess, but he is sure to please all his fans.
