El Niņo in North America

El Niņo took its toll on North America this year, with disasters ranging from floods and mudslides to tornadoes and hurricanes. Finances also took a plunge in El Niņo preparation and repairs. However, most of the United States and Canada experienced a relatively mild winter. Due to the mild winter, energy use was down ten percent for heating of homes, which saved Americans about five billion dollars in heating bills.
