"These are my friends. They work with me at the National Weather Service. There are many different jobs here, so meet each person to learn what they do." -- Eric

"Hello, my name is Linda. I guess you know that I work at the National Weather Service, since you have already met Eric. My job is as a forecaster, so I use the day-to-day information collected at the station to predict what kind of weather is on the way. I am the long-range, or extended, forecaster. So, I gather information to predict the weather for tonight, tomorrow, and the next day."

"Hiya! I'm the other forecaster that works at the National Weather Service during the day. Linda and I work here at our station to record what is happening, so we can use the information to help people everywhere. Since weather can affect our lives so much, its important to be educated guesses about what is going to happen. That way we can continue on with our lives without continuously worrying about the weather. I work as the immediate weather forecaster. I check the readings on inside and outside instruments to see what the weather is at the time."

"Hi. I'm Janice and I work the late shift. That's right. Even though you are all sleeping, the National Weather Service still keeps a forecaster on duty during the night. That way there can always be up-to-the-minute observations, and more recent and accurate predictions can be made for the next day."
