To learn about creating applets, as described in Chapter 13, you should read Justin Seyster's simply titled book, Java. Design is important; plenty of tips can be found in my other book, Website Blueprints. Another great resource for any newbie or experienced web developer is the Microsoft SiteBuilder Network. There are detailed articles from Microsoft, one of the companies authoring the new standards for the Web. If you really are getting into hypertext, exploring the literary prospects, et cetera, then you should learn about the originator of the hypertext concept, Vannevar Bush, who wrote "As We May Think". |
