HTML Is Your Friend/ pg. 12 DEMO NO. 2:
This demo is designed to show you exactly what frames look like, and how they behave. In the left column, you see the source code for the whole demostration. The red code relates to the frameset tags. The blue code represents content. In the right column, you will see some tips concerning frames. You can resize the divider bar below, to hide this drivel. Have fun! Be sure to read the comments. As you can see from the source code, it takes quite a lot of HTML files to create this three frame layout and to fill it with content. Two of the files below (Frames1.htm and Frames3.htm) are the actual frameset files. The other three form the visible contnet. "Frames2.htm" forms this window's content. "Frames4.htm" is the left column, where the source code examples reside. "Frames5.htm" is the window where the benevolent ruler, "Design Considerations" presides -- scratch that, this isn't a fantasy story. Much to your dismay, I have not used the newer way to nest frames (the substitution method). Instead, I have gone with the tried-and-true way -- nesting frameset files. Nevertheless, both methods could have produced the same effect. |
