Aiax, king of Salamis and the son of Telamon was one of the Greek heroes that attacked Troy after the kidnapping of Helena the wife of Menelaos of Sparta. In the Trojan war, Hector of Troy challenged the Greek for a man to man fight. Aiax was the chosen man. The fight took hours, but after all Aiax won, but he didn't kill Hector. Hector said:'Aiax, you behaved yourself as a man and a god gave you power and strenght. Let us rest and resume the fight tomorrow, until a god will give the victory to one of us. But first we will offer each other presents.' And after this fight Hector gave Aiax a sword and Aiax gave Hector a ring. Both of them were received in the camps as Heroes. After Troy was destroyed Hephaistos made a amour for the man that had fought best in the Trojan war. Aiax or Odysseus. Aiax was the strongest and Odysseus the smartest. In a beautiful reason Odysseus wins. Aiax was angry, he walked to his tent, cursed Agamemnon, who had chosen Odysseus, and killed himself.
