Pergamum
Pergamum is a city in Western Turkey on the Aegean Sea coast.
Pergamum has known many kings, Greek but also Italien ones (Emperor
Traianus for example). Pergamum lied on a mountain, on a hill of
this mountain is built the Theatre of Pergamum. Near by the theatre
lied a little temple of Zeus. In the 19th century the German have
stolen the acropolis of Pergamum. This century the German have
replaced a new acropolis, but not the origin. But the acropolis of
Pergamum is one of the fairest. There is a gymnasium (a
sportcomplex), temples of Zeus, Hera and Artemis. There's also a 16 kilometer
aquaduct built 100 AD. Pergamum was a great city in time of the
Romans. To visit Pergamum you don't have to take hours, one hour is
enough, there didn't live more than 25,000 people. But you've to
take a camera with you, the views are very nice, really. You can't
find Pergamum on a map, the city is now called Bergama.
