Settlements Near Volcanoes

Many settlements are found near volcanoes or on the slopes of dormant or extinct volcanoes. These people risk the threat of sudden volcanic eruptions as the benefits they can get from the volcanoes are immense. Farmers can cultivate healthy crops and reap rich harvests on the fertile soil of the volcanoes which contains many minerals, which are weathered from lava and pyroclastic materials. Mining towns can form around these areas as the volcanoes store a high amount of precious minerals, for example: Sulphur.
