Playing with Your Cat
Playing with your cat is very important. It's great exercise, especially if a cat is penned up indoors all the time. Plus, it makes us feel like kittens again! :o)
Hide-and-seek is a great game to play. You can also chase each other or pull a toy mouse along the floor on a string for us to attack.
Small balls of crumpled up and crinkly newspaper make delightful noises when we bat them around. Yarn can be unraveled and wrapped all around the house. You can say your house has been decorated by your own private interior decorator. It's also great to pounce on. Tennis balls, Ping-Pong balls, or large rubber balls are fun to chase. A stuffed animal is great to chew on or cuddle up with. Remember Garfield's Pooky? An empty thread spool attached to a heavy string and tied to a doorknob can provide hours of fun.
Don't use your fingers as a toy with a kitten though. You don't want your kitten to pick up the bad habit of biting or scratching people's hands. Also, make sure the toys have no loose parts that can be chewed on and swallowed. Those parts can get stuck in our throats and make us choke.
