Air Gap
The area of ocean between US and Great Britain that was too far out
to allow air cover from fighter aircraft.

Dysentery
An infection on the lower intestinal track producing pain, fever and severe diarrhea, often with blood and mucus.

Lieutenant

Private
The lowest rank of enlisted personnel. Whether you were drafted or enlisted, you start as a private. Next comes, Private 1st Class, Corporal, Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, Technical Sergeant, Master Sergeant, First Sergeant.
