"How can you just sit here and eat like that?? Didn't you hear what happened yesterday? The Krauts seized Sergent Gifford's tank and some Corporal lost his artillery piece. There are wounded streaming into the nearby village! The Germans are pushing. Looks as though the 'tanks' we heard the other day, might have been real after all!
Even the towns people are quiet lately, haven't you noticed. They know something; something is going to happen…I'm scared."
