There were four bombs built:
- The Gadget - exploded at the Trinity Site, July 16, 1945 on what is now the
White Sands Missile Range near Alamogordo, NM.- Little Boy - Dropped by the bomber "Enola Gay" over Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945
- Fat Man - Designed to be more destructive, dropped by the bomber "Bock's Car", over Nagasaki Aug. 9, 1945
- The 4th bomb never named and never used.
