Development of the technology and materials for the first atomic bombs took place at the Manhattan Engineering District, Manhattan, New York. Codename "Manhattan Project"
        The two B-29 Bombers (Enola Gay and Bock's Car) scheduled to carry the bombs arrived in Guam on July 6th to have alterations made to their bomb bays to allow for transport of the bombs. The planes and crews arrived at Tinian Island in the Marianas on July 12, 1945 to resume training in their aircraft.
        Materials for the first bomb "Gadget" assembled at the Trinity Site in what is now the White Sands Missile Range. It is detonated on July 16th, 1945 with a force of 20 Kilotons of TNT.
