"Try not to think about food. Rumor has it that we're nearly out of food and water. The cavalry horses were finished a week ago, and we're on the last of the Quarter Master's mules. I saw Jake eating a lizard yesterday It looked good. I'm so hungry. The thought of fried rat even sounds possible. People are puking everywhere from disease and dysentery. I hate watching them, because there's nothing we can do to help. All the medicine is gone, there is no good water left.
Try not to think about the heat eitherI know it's hard in this sweltering jungle. Come on, lets try to find a shady place to clean our guns.
