  • In 1905, Einstein was an unknown 26-year-old a patent examiner working at the Swiss Patent Office in Bern. In his free time while holding down this 40-hour-a-week job, Einstein wrote three landmark papers that would revolutionize modern physics. The publication of these papers made 1905 an unparalleled miracle year for science that remains astounding to this day. After all, it's not every year that Sir Isaac Newton gets proven wrong.

"My political ideal is democracy. Let every man be respected as an individual and no man idealized."
