This site is divided into five sections: Introduction, His Life, His Works, His Legacy, and Info Center. On every page the section is indicated at the very top. Directly below it is the title of the page.
On every page, there are two menu bars. The vertical menu bar on the left side of the page facilitates navigation between the sections. The horizontal menu bar is located at the top right part of the page. It provides links to the previous, next, main, Sitemap, Search, and Feedback pages.
The main text and content are located at center of the page. Some pages are divided into subtopics marked by bold text. Links below the side menu bar provide quick access to the subtopics of each page.
Each page also includes links to other pages and an Einstein quote. For browsers that cannot interpret Java, a link directly below the side menu bar takes the user to a non-java version of the page.
This page has been carefully crafted to accomadate people with slower connections. The side menu bars only require small, fast Java Applets that once downloaded can be reused on every page. Many of the pictures are only sixteen color and are stretched. Most of the text uses normal HTML to provide the text affects. The icons used are small and explained with normal text.
The topics of this site are self-explanatory. The "Introduction" provides an attention-grabber and a explanation for use. "His Life" covers Einstein's childhood and political life. "His Works" cover Einstein's scientific accomplishments. "His Legacy" analyzes Einstein and his accomplishments as well as their affects. The "Info Center" provides miscellaneous information about Einstein and the works cited.
The feedback link on the top menu bar provides a means of expression for viewers. It includes a bulletin board devoted to Einstein and science and a simple e-mail response form.
The construction link in the info center describes how this side was built, the works cited, and a quiz to test viewers.
This site is totally compatible with 256 colors and was designed with 640x480 resolution in mind although 800x600 resolution and 16 bit color (65536 or "thousands of" colors) looks best. It also supports most major browsers: Netscape, Internet Explorer, Opera, and Lynx. Additional features on these browsers are optional.
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.
Interesting Geocities homepage with a biography about Einstein.
