COOK YOURSELF THIN

You have accepted the proposal and your book is in the making.

Step 1: Your book has been through mechanical editing and has altered for grammatical errors. Production has started and your book is being put together. All illustrations and other typographical styles have been determined, and your manuscript has been sent to a typesetter. Soon, you receive your page proofs for review and the final product looks amazing! It's ready for printing!

Step 2: Your book has been delivered to a warehouse for storage. Books and unbound copies are boxed and ready to fill any orders for at least the next three years. If you sell more than the number that you have printed before two years, more copies will be printed for you. Your promotion has already begun. Three hundred direct mail pieces announcing your book have been printed and sent off. Some copies go to local newspapers, magazines, journals, publications, organizations and libraries.

Step 3: Your book has been copyrighted. This copyright runs from the time of the works' creation, through the life of the author, and 50 years thereafter. The book is yours!
