L yric
   A poem (usually short), that expresses the thoughts and feelings of a single speaker. Forms of the lyric include the
elegy, ode, and sonnet. The lyric was orginally a poem sung in the form of a lyre, giving many of the lyrics today a melody.

   (ex. Keats' "Ode to a Grecian Urn" and Christina Rosetti's "Song")
