Piccadilly begins near Hyde Park Corner, where the cars fight
themselves forward in streetlevel, while the pedestrians try to find their way through the
labyrinth of passengers below. North of Piccadilly are the luxury hotels and the casinoes
in Park Lane, while the south side of Piccadilly runs along Green Park, laid out in the
17th century.
Go up to Piccadilly on the left pavement and make a detour down White
Horse Street to the shops, the pubs and the restaurants around Shepherd Market. Next
side-stret to the left from Piccadilly is Half Moon Street where P.G. Wodehouse let his
funny figure Bertie Woodster and his immovable waiter Jeeves live. To the right after
Green Park is the very useful Ritz Hotel from 1906 where beau mondeén wavees. It is still
a fashionable (and expensive) place to enjoy one´s afternoon tea.
