Ganesh Chaturthi
Shops of clay idols of Ganesh in various shapes and forms are opened in advance. Devotees purchase an idol of their chioce and bring it home in a procession. They install it at homr with proper rites and offer worship daily with red flowers, Druva(grass) and Naivedya. The image is worshipped for 10 days. The last day known as Anand Chatur Dashi. On this day the idol is taken in a procession and immersed in water-sea, river or lake. Lord Ganesh destroys all obstacles of his worshippers. He is know as Vighnesh and worshipped before undertaking any work
