Ham radio is fun for everyone! There are so many different things that a ham operator can do! The Russian space station MIR has a ham radio station. It was made so that cosmonauts would have something to do in their spare time. With the proper equipment, any ham can talk to MIR! You can also use your computer with a radio to leave e-mail messages with them on their packet station (see What is Packet?).

Some hams have bounced signals off the moon and back to earth! One of the newer ways to use ham radio is TV! That's right, amateurs put a video camera in their ham shack. They talk and see each other! There is also slow scan TV, with which you can scan pictures, postcards, and other paper documents to other hams!

With ham radio you never know how far you can go!
