VRML: Virtual Reality Modeling Language

VRML is a technology that allows a Web Wizard to put 3D scenes on the Web.  This technology, although quite new and not widely used (due to the size and the complexity of the coding), VRML can be easy with the right programs.  If you own a program like Ray Dream Designer or Ray Dream Studio by Metacreations you can use the program to export those 3D objects created in the program to VRML.  If you do not have a fancy program like this you can still make VRML with a text editor such as Notepad.

To begin working with VRML there are a couple of things that you will need.  They are free for use, and available for download on the Internet.

1.  You need a text editor
2. You need a VRML capable browser
(Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator
with VRML support)

With these tools installed you should be able to create and view VRML.

Click here to test your browser's VRML compatibility.
(You should see "VRML" in red letters.  You should be able to move the object and rotate your view, though the methods for doing this are differant for differant VRML viewers.)
