For ages, Web Wizards have sought graphics which are not flat, images with depth.  These wizards have sought the dimension of 3D design.  This is the dimension which we live in today, in which objects have not only have a X and Y axes for height and width, but also a Z axis for depth.

3D design can be done easily by anyone who has the time, patience and possibly the money to buy the tools (there are free 3D design programs available).  3D design takes time to learn and to get used to.  Unlike 2D design where all objects are on a flat sheet of paper (real or simulated), 3D design is more like building a model from pieces of wood, metal, stone and other materials.  3D design gives a person the chance to create real three-dimensional models on a computer with the ability to arrange, paint, light, and render realistic 3D scenes.

In this chapter of the Web Wizard's Spellbook you will find how 3D objects are created on computers, how they are arranged, rendered, and painted.

You will also find how a person can go about starting off with 3D modeling without spending a lot of money.
