Technology

Technology is the driving force behind superiority today. Corporations and countries are always eager to be on the cutting edge; they want more power than their rivals. Technology is used by Microsoft and Intel to gain markets worldwide, but all this falls more under Corporate World Domination. Technology is also responsible for the world's current global economy, global communications and threats of global war.

With international trade through cheap and efficient transport methods as well as the ability to buy and sell products and stocks worldwide via the internet, a global economy has formed. Just about every country relies heavily on trade from other countries. This explains why trouble in the Asian economies can make American and European stock markets take heavy losses. If Japan is in a recession, its citizens can't afford to spend as much on foreign goods and investments.

Technology has unified the world via communications as well. In the world today, news travels instantaneously to all industrialized parts of the world (as long as they're not locked in an oppressive dictatorship that censors the news). Satellites, television, radio, long distance phone calls, faxes the internet, planes, trains and automobiles all help form a global community.

In the past, technology had been a big issue with warring factions. As far back as the discovery of the club and spears, man has been lured by technology. In the middle ages, the dawn of gun powder quickly became a prerequisite for any modern empire.
