Interact

Welcome to Genetics: Gateway to the Future's Interact section, which allows visitors to interact with each other and with various enjoyable, educational programs that teach genetics in the collaborative "Internet style".

Interactive Game - a simple, easy-to-play game that teaches the concepts of Mendelian inheritance, Punnett squares, and dominant or recessive traits.

Survey - an adventure in population genetics, this page allows visitors to input certain genetic information (hair color, eye color, etc.) and view real-time statistics of previous responses.

Knowledge Quiz - test your "DNA literacy"* with the Knowledge Quiz, which allows visitors to answer questions about genetics, then see their answers, the correct answers, and the reasons for these answers, all presented in an easy-to-read format.

Teachers' Corner - a page designed especially for teachers! This page is full of ideas, lesson plans, and experiments for teaching genetics. In addition, teachers can submit their own tried-and-true methods of teaching this often-difficult topic.

*The phrase "DNA literacy" was first used in an editorial in the British medical journal Lancet in 1989. The concept was expanded upon in The Book of Man, by Walter Bodmer and Robin McKie.
