TV G	general audience Programs rated TVG are suitable for anyone to watch, even though they may not have specifically been created for children. Prime time shows rated TVG include "Rosie O'Donnell," "Touched by an Angel," and "Cosby."
TV PG	parental guidance suggested Programs in this category are usually okay for children to watch with their parents. The PG rating could be due in part to the theme itself (which may require parental guidance), or the infrequent use of violence, language, or innuendo. TVPG shows include "ER," "Cops," and "Baywatch."
TV 14	parents strongly cautioned These programs may contain sexually explicit and/or violent content, sophisticated themes, and strong language, so parents are warned against leaving a child unattended while watching a TV14 show. "Millenium," "X-Files," "New York Undercover," and the "Tonight Show" are all rated TV14.
TV MA	mature audience only These programs were created specifically for adults. The only program rated TVMA aired during prime time was "Schindler's List." Comedy Central's "South Park" is another show rated TVMA.
