SVT icon SVT is the Swedish public service company with two transmitting channels, SVT1 and SVT2. The 1st January 1996 competition ceased between the two channels, and today are the two channels cooperating. The company is owned by the Administration Foundation (Förvaltningsstiftelsen) for Swedish Television LTD, the Swedish Radio LTD and the Swedish Uducationradio (Utbildningsradion) LTD. Swedish television is the oldest TV organization in Sweden. It was established officially on the 4th of September, 1956. The entire Swedish TV population has access to these two channels, thereby making them the two largest TV-channels in Sweden. SVT's programming consists of news and weather, movies, comic strips, entertainment/family programs, documentaries and childrens' programs.

TV3 icon TV3 is a commercial channel and it's owned by the media company MTG. The channel was established on the 31st of December 1987. The channel is a Swedish commercially financed entertainment channel. Today 54% of the Swedish TV population has access to TV3. TV3's programming includes movies, comic strips, talkshows, news and weather, entertainment/family programs, childrens' programs and documentaries.

TV4 icon TV4 is something between a commercial channel and a public service channel. It's owned by the media company MTG, just like TV3. The channel was established on the 15th of September 1990 via satellite. The 2nd Mars started the transmission through the Swedish ground network. Today, 99% of the Swedish TV population has access to the channel, making TV4 the second largest TV-channel, after SVT. TV4's program offerings consist of news and weather, movies, comic strips, documentaries, talkshows, entertainment/family programs and childrens' programs.

TV5 icon TV5 is a commercial channel owned by Scandinavian Broadcasting Systems. It's a Swedish comercially financed entertaiment channel. It was established in March 1989, but then it was called the Nordic Channel. Today, 50% of the Swedish TV population has access to the channel. TV5 offers movies, comic strips, documentaries, talkshows, childrens' programs and family/entertainment programs.

Z-TV - http://www.ztv.se
Z-TV icon Z-TV is a commercial channel owned by the media company MTG. The channel was established 1992.
Z-TV is an music channel that especialy directs itself to a younger public. You can say that Z-TV is the Swedish answer to MTV. 37% of the Swedish TV population has access to Z-TV. Apart from music, they also display youth programs, entertainment programs and movies.
