Webworks is a resource for the web developer-to-be. Our goal is to provide a complete resource for learning HTML, the language of the web, as well as other, more advanced technologies such as ActiveX, Java, and CGI. While many powerful point-and-click Web site design tools, such as Microsoft Frontpage and Claris Homepage, are availabe, it is always beneficial to be familiar with the nuts and bolts of the behind-the-scenes HTML code.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with the Internet, start with our web intro, and progress through the areas of our site in sequential order. On the other hand, for those that have a solid understanding of the Internet fundamentals, go ahead and jump into any specific section that interests you. We've tried to make each area a complete, self-contained resource.

web intro	Our Web intro provides an introduction to the site and a brief history of the Internet. Beginners, start here.
html tutorial	Here, you'll learn the structure of an HTML file and fundamental HTML tags.
advanced html	Here, you can learn some of the newer, more advanced features of HTML, such as tables, frames, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
scripting	Web scripting allows you to bring your pages to a whole new level of interactivity. A knowledge of scripting is also required to utilize other technologies, such as ActiveX.
activex & java	ActiveX and Java are new technologies that allow you to add interactive programs to your pages, ranging from a simple enhancement to a database front-end.
cgi	CGI is another technology for adding user interactivity to your sites. It allows you to perform powerful services, such as online ordering, using server-side scripts.
creating graphics	In this area, you'll learn how to create appealing, low-bandwidth graphics for use in your Web sites, as well as tutorials for popular graphics tools.
resources	This area includes links to other cool Web sites, software downloads, and more. You can also post a message to our message board.
PowerHTML	PowerHTML is an application written by Jonathan Brownell, one of the authors of the Webworks site, that integrates color-coded HTML editing and web site project management into a fast and efficient interface.
