Webworks was created and is maintained by Jonathan Brownell, Mike Lin, and Robert Engeln. They originally met over the Internet, through their common interests in computer programming and web design. The team members are separated by over a thousand miles, yet they collaborate nearly every day through the Internet using a program called ICQ (available for free at http://www.mirabilis.com).

Background: Jonathan programmed computers at the early age of 7, and created his own software development company, Alpha Omega Software, when he was 12 years old. It has been highly successful, with gross sales topping $1,000,000. He began his foray into the Internet and web page development with HTML at 13, and has since created a number of successful commercial web sites for businesses nationwide. For Webworks, he created the tutorial pages covering the HTML basics, web page scripting with JavaScript and VBScript, graphics creation with Adobe Photoshop and ImageReady, and PowerHTML.

Background: Robert started his career in computers at the age of 7 when his parents brought home a state of the art AT&T PC. (That was so long ago, it had no hard drive and ran DOS 1.0. It also began his lifelong interest in programming with that wonderful program called GWBasic.) He became interested in programming at the age of 10 starting with QBasic, then moving on to C++ and HTML. His recent projects include Webworks and doing Web site consulting work.
