Tessellations of Hexagons (1/2)
 

Introduction
Having investigated pentagons, the logical step is to consider hexagons. As with pentagons, it is impossible for all the angles of a hexagon to fit around a point. There are only 360 degrees available, but the angles of a hexagon constitute 720 degrees.

It takes some time and effort, but you can discover that certain types of hexagons do tessellate. The following illustrates a technique very similar to Limited Technique 1 used in the Tessellation of Pentagons section.
