Why is this section called Mosaics/Tilings? The words "Mosaics" and "Tilings" usually refer to patterns of shapes with straight edges (otherwise known as polygons). For the most part, the techniques and ideas discussed in this section deal only with such patterns. In contrast, the Escher section deals with tessellations of irregular shapes.
