Notes: This tessellation is an example of the unit cells technique. The unit cells are regular hexagons and can be constructed by connecting the outer vertices of the reddish star-shaped polygons. Interestingly, each regular hexagon was divided in such a way that the resulting boundary lines interact to form even larger regular hexagons (which outline the green shapes)! This tessellation has all four symmetries: translational, reflective, rotational, and glide reflectional.
