Mirrors
Perhaps Escher was inspired by such warped images as a spherical
reflection when he created his Circle Limit series (see Infinity). As he says, "Such a globe reflection collects almost one's
whole surroundings in one disk-shaped image."
The mixture of the reality and the reflection fascinated Escher.
