In addition to the eleven systems explained on this site, there is a group of organs which work together to compose another system; the special senses. These organs, the eyes, ears, tongue, nose and skin, are responsible for everything we see, hear, taste, smell and touch.  Each sense communicates with the brain through specialized nerves, for example the eye sends signals of images to the brain using the optic nerve.
