The primary function of the cardiovascular system is to get oxygen to all points of the body.  The central organ is the heart.  Which is made up of cardiac issuse. First, it pumps blood to the lungs to receive oxygen, and then to  various parts of the body for distribution.  Blood travels through a system of arteries (oxygenated blood) and veins (unoxygenated blood).  This system is called the circulatory system and can be thought of as the bodies highway.  The cardiovascular system is one of the most important systems in the body, because other organs must rely on it for the distribution of vital oxegan.
